FCx Ubel & Ventil has become one of the first organisations within the FCX International group of flow control companies to secure accreditation to the new ISO 9000 Revision 2000 standards. The company – a specialist distributor of flow control products, instrumentation products and bearing technology, providing technical solutions, off-the-shelf delivery and other services – secured the new, tougher accreditation in just nine months. Like all ISO 9000 related accreditation, the 2000 Revision requires companies to meet exacting standards. Companies must demonstrate a customer focus, a mutually beneficial supplier relationship and the ability to make continuous improvements triggered by planning and review procedures. ISO 9000 in its current format will become obsolete by the end of 2003 and ISO 9002 and 9003 are also set to be withdrawn. The 2000 Revision places a greater emphasis on areas such as internal communications, organisational change and resource management and less emphasis on documentation.
