India a major Global source of Industrial Valves

CII valves and actuator conference is the flagship annual event organized by the Valves and Actuators Division of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). CII Valves and actuators division comprises of industry leaders representing over almost 80% of the valves and actuators manufactured in the country.

Mr. Arvind K Goel, Chairman – CII Valves & Actuators division and Managing Director, Auma India, mentioned about emergence of India as a global exporter of valves with export growing at over 100% in last three years. He informed that export of Industrial Valves would reach USD 1 Billion by 2014 and focus on exports is expected to continue on account of domestic slowdown and increased competitiveness due to weaker rupee. He informed that now most MNC valves manufacturers have set up base in India by setting up green-field plants or acquiring Indian companies and major Indian manufacturers were expanding capacity at a rapid pace. He pointed out that many Indian Valve manufacturers have approvals from most demanding customers across the world.

Mr. J P Nayak, Chairman – Machinery & Industrial Products Independent Company, Larsen & Toubro Ltd. In his special address informed about the growing importance of valves in the process industries. He mentioned that presently valve industry is moving in a faster pace where it generates its own technology, understands market and gets product accepted all over the world. He also mentioned that the availability of infrastructure and talent pool in the country is attracting a number of international valve manufacturers to set up operation in India.

Mr. Ambuj Sharma, Additional secretary, Department of Heavy Industries, Government of India, in his keynote address talked about the importance of Government of India support to the Valve industry for the growth of domestic and exports.

CII valves and Actuators conference 2013 was a great success with special addresses by various Indian and International experts from end-users, EPCs, Government representatives, valve manufacturers and over 250 delegates from various domain of process industry.
Mr. I. S. Malhotra, Vice Chairman of the Division and MD, Pentair Valves thanked all stake-holders for making this conference a big success.
