Instrumentation valves open up new field

A project at the largest undeveloped oil and gas resource on the UK continental shelf off Shetland is being equipped with Anderson Greenwood Instrumentation valves, manifolds and enclosures from Tyco Valves and Controls. Over 500 Monoflanges and several hundred Largebore Intellimount units for direct mounting of process instrumentation were specified to measure liquids and gases for the BP Clair project. The equipment was chosen to significantly reduce the number of potential leakage points, threaded connections and impulse lines, and also to enhance safety at the new platform. The Monoflanges will be acting as primary double block and bleed valves for either direct or remote mounting of instruments. The Monoflange is a compact manifold of piping-specification valves that replaces conventional multiple valve fabricated assemblies and enables high-integrity isolation of instruments from pipelines.
