400 AUMA actuators for Mosenergo CHP plant

AUMA has supplied the valve actuation technology for the CHPP-21 combined heat and power plant in Moscow, Russia. More than 400 electric actuators from AUMA are installed throughout the plant, ensuring precise and secure valve operation in all critical processes related to the flow of water, steam, gas, and combustion air.

The 450 MW combined-cycle CHPP-21 power plant is operated by Gazprom subsidiary JSC Mosenergo, the largest electricity and heat generating company in Russia and one of the largest heat producers in the world. Mosenergo operates 15 power plants with an installed electrical capacity of 13 GW and a thermal capacity of 50 GW. The company’s power plants supply more than 60% of the electric energy and approximately 70% of the heat consumed in the Moscow region.

High-performance AUMA SAR modulating actuators are deployed where excellent control accuracy is crucial, for example the control valves on the rapid desuperheater and those that maintain a pre-set water level in the high-pressure drum. In potentially hazardous areas, explosion-proof AUMA SAEx actuators are deployed, for example to control natural gas flows upstream of the booster compressor station.

Local AUMA service specialists ensured high-quality support and smooth integration throughout all phases of the project.
