AMPO POYAM VALVES has supplied more than 300 large sized gate valves and metal seated ball valves for the Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) project RU-V on Borneo Island in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This expansion project is being executed in two phases. Phase I is focused on expanding the facility’s output capacity from 260,000b/d to 360,000b/d and Phase II will focus on increasing the flexibility of the refinery to handle Middle Eastern crude. This expansion is being carried out by the refinery’s owner, Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation, Pertamina, in Joint Operation with SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd , Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd., PT. Rekayasa Industri and PT PP (Persero) Tbk. AMPO POYAM VALVES has designed and manufactured several highly engineered gate valves up to 60” and 1500 lbs as well as up to 14” and 600 lbs metal seated ball valves for this refinery upgrade. All those valves will be installed on the following systems and refinery units: South Acid & RFCC Gas Flare System, Plant Feed & Product Tankage, Interconnecting Pipe Racks, Steam & Power Generation System, Sea Water Intake, Desalination & Demineralization System, Propylene Recovery Unit, Common Facilities NLP-1, RFCC NHT Unit, Alkylation Unit, etc. AMPO POYAM VALVES always develop completely tailored solutions for customers, and in this case many of the gate valves have been designed to be installed vertically.
