RACKON-X: the first Rack&Pinion actuator with data-tracking unit and wireless transmission

OMAL SPA on the occasion of Valve World Expo ‘22 will present for the first time RACKON-X, the revolutionary pneumatic actuator equipped with a data tracking unit for monitoring and storing key operating data.
The innovative system, developed entirely by OMAL’s R&D Department, can record and wireless transmit the key actuator data such as:

  • number of cycles
  • temperature variations
  • open-to-close and close-to-open time
  • actuator rotation angle

This information, stored in the cloud, will be valuable resource for the implementation of remote monitoring and control systems, functions that are now imperative in any automation process: predictive maintenance, remote monitoring of proper opening and closing operations, alerts for deviations from programmed behaviors, malfunction warnings.

The new RACKON-X system consists of an electronic unit integrated into the body of the Rack&Pinion actuator, a wireless transmission gateway and a user-friendly platform X-EASY for online data fruition.

X-EASY platform is the OMAL free-software that allows to collect, manage and analyze data from different RACKON-X actuators and display them according to the center of use, plant or application asset.

The complete system does not need any external wiring, being a pure wireless unit, allowing easy and fast set-up. The actuator unit is equipped with a high-durability battery with a range up to 5 years or 2 Millions events recorded.

The RACKON-X represents the spearhead of the innovative new products that the OMAL Group has developed over the past two years demonstrating its commitment to process automation support.

Previewed at Valve World Expo in November 2022, the RACKON-X will be available for sale worldwide through all distribution networks of OMAL.

The solution is patent pending.

Come check out the preview at the OMAL SPA booth number 3B64 at Valve World.
