Grundfos has entered into an agreement to acquire Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business in Italy, France, and the UK. The acquired business is headquartered out of Bologna, Italy, has around 400 employees, and has a 2023 turnover of more than EUR 100M. This marks another important milestone in Grundfos’ ongoing effort to pioneer solutions that tackle global water challenges.
Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies and the acquisition of Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business is seen as a significant growth opportunity.
The acquisition follows a series of other Grundfos acquisitions within water treatment; EUROWATER (2020), MECO (2021), and Water Works (2022), and aligns with Grundfos’ strategy to strengthen its innovation leadership within water technology. The acquired business will become part of Grundfos Water Treatment, a business unit within the Grundfos Industry Division, and help Grundfos pursue further growth in Europe:
The transaction is subject to closing conditions including regulatory approvals. Closing is expected in the second half of this year. Until then, Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business and Grundfos will continue to operate as separate entities.
