Pfeiffer Vacuum Valves & Engineering, a member of the Busch Group, has been awarded for its commitment to purchasing renewable energies.
The vacuum technology specialist received the Blue Sky Business Partner Luminary Award at its Yreka site, making it the first award winner in the California service territory.
Companies participating in the programme have supported the generation of 13.9 million megawatt-hours of renewable energy over the past 23 years, resulting in a total reduction in carbon emissions of 4.7 million tonnes.
Bryan Strait, General Manager of Pfeiffer Vacuum, said the company is dedicated to doing environmentally responsible business.
“We are proud to reduce our carbon footprint, support community-based renewable energy projects, and take major strides with the Busch Group towards our common environmental and sustainability goals.”
He added, “We are honoured to receive this award.”
Pfeiffer Vacuum has reduced its Scope 2 emissions in North America by 100%, with the Treka site being responsible for 54% of the reduction due to its switch to 100% green electricity.
