AMPO POYAM VALVES continues to reinforce its leadership in coker technology by supplying highly engineered valves for the Coke Drum Structure Package (CDSP) of the Delayed Coker Unit at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), located in Golaghat district, Assam, India. This project is part of NRL’s ambitious expansion plan to increase its refining capacity from 3.0 MMTPA to 9.0 MMTPA. NRL is a subsidiary of Oil India Ltd. and is under the ownership of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India.
AMPO POYAM VALVES will design and manufacture several 4-way switch plug valves, motor-operated lift plug isolation valves, ring-type valves and severe service ball valves up to 12” # 900 lbs and 24” #300 lbs for this project, which will be executed by HAL Offshore Limited, the engineering firm that awarded the EPC contract for the CDSP package and which engineering and project management aspects will be overseen by Engineers India Ltd. (EIL).
These valves, designed specifically for severe service applications, will play a critical role in the Delayed Coker Unit’s revamp, which aims to increase its capacity from 0.306 MMTPA to 0.560 MMTPA. The scope of supply also includes integrated control panels for the switch valves, which will undergo rigorous integrated performance testing prior to delivery.
The supply is expected to be completed by mid-2025, with AMPO SERVICE actively participating in the installation and commissioning processes at the plant.
