New industrial automation micropressure sensors

Mouser Electronics, Inc. now offers the new E8Y-L micropressure sensors with digital display from Omron Electronics. The devices are compact digital pressure sensors developed to save space and provide clear on-site monitoring for industrial manufacturing equipment and factory automation applications.

The micropressure sensors feature a compact design (31mm × 30mm × 30mm) and an easy-to-read red LED indicator, allowing the monitoring of pressure in various scenarios and different zones. This enables applications such as maintaining regulated pressure in a clean room or automatically regulating ducts or valves. These EN- and UL-approved sensors include analogue current output models and pressure port Rc (PT) 1/8 models offering zero-point adjustment, and automatic teaching settings that allow users to set custom pressures at which the sensor turns on or off. Users can set the zero point to any value to simplify tracking pressure changes in semiconductor wafer-processing reactors, monitoring organic gas flow paths during implantation, or in safety systems such as purge gas leakage detection. Also, users can interact with the device through four simple buttons on the front panel to select the measurement range, displayed channel, operating mode, or set thresholds for the upper and lower limits of measurement pressure, which can simplify the detection of machinery faults, such as clogged exhausts or blocked vents.

The E8Y-L sensors operate from -10C to 55C, with no condensation or icing, and can withstand up to 85% relative humidity, making them suited to a wide variety of industrial environments. With a wide supply voltage range of 12V to 24V and a current consumption of up to 50mA or 75mA, the sensors are ready to operate from popular industrial power rails.
