Positioner calibration made easy

The task of calibrating valve positioners has been made significantly easier and safer, with the launch of Tyco Valves & Controls’ new EaziCal IR range of analogue positioners. The EaziCal IR analogue positioner is the first of its kind which features two alternative methods of undertaking the calibration process. Local, manual calibration can be accomplished via the simple push button facility of the AutoCal touchpad, or by implementing an infrared signal from a handheld. This latter method allows plant operating personnel to undertake the calibration process without being in the immediate vicinity of the valve, therefore avoiding unsafe situations. The clear polycarbonate cover enables the reception of infrared signals by sensors located within the enclosure, thereby beginning the calibration procedure, which is completed within minutes. Part of the new AVID range of actuator control devices, the EaziCal IR utilises the ModMount low profile mounting base, the HiVue visual display for local position identification and the EasiFix quick and simple switch adjustment system, making the devices easy to mount, set and use.
