The German company PCK Raffinerie GmbH has recently awarded Technip a contract for the design and construction of a new hydrogen plant to be located within its refinery at Schwedt, about 120km NE of Berlin. Under the terms of the lump-sum turnkey contract, worth over EUR 30 million, Technip will provide licensing and will be responsible for engineering, equipment supply, construction and start-up of the 35,000 Nm3/h plant. The plant will be able to handle a wide variety of feedstocks, ranging from refinery off-gas, to LPG and naphtha. Its design features ultra-low energy consumption and allows the production of high-quality steam as by-product. The work will be executed mainly in Technip’s engineering centre in the Netherlands with support from its German operational bases. The unit is scheduled to be delivered in the middle of October 2002.
