Severn Glocon expands into Japan
UK-based valve maker Severn Glocon has expanded its operations in Asia and the Far East with the opening of a regional sales office in Japan. Severn Glocon’s Tokyo office will be the centre for the company’s sales and support activities throughout the Asia-Pacific zones, including India and Australasia. The company’s control valves are widely used in the area’s LNG industries as well as the oil, gas, petrochemical and associated chemical industries. By opening its own offices in the area (the Tokyo office will be followed by an office in Singapore in the near future) Seven Glocon plans to increase its penetration of all these industries by increasing the level and quality of local support available to contractors and end users. Severn Glocon has appointed A.S. Kumar as Regional Sales Manager Asia Pacific, to organise Far East operations. Fluent in three languages – English, Indian and Japanese – A.S. Kumar is a specialist in the engineering contracting business. Since 1989 he has worked for the Chioyada Corporation and Fisher Controls in Tokyo.
