Tyco Valves and Controls has won a USD 12.6 million contract by engineering contractors AMEC BKW Ltd to manufacture a package of actuated and manually operated valves for a major petrochemical plant extension for the recovery of ethane from feedstock gas. Tyco will supply a co-ordinated package of products, including Vanessa Triple Offset Rotary Process Valves, Raimondi Reduced-Bore Ball Valves and Biffi electric and pneumatic actuators, complete with control panels, volume tanks and emergency shutdown panels. The equipment will be used for a variety of duties at the plant, including process control, isolation and emergency shut-down (ESD). The Emergency Shutdown valves are fitted with ESD Cabinets or Advanced Diagnostic Positioners to allow partial movement testing regimes to be undertaken throughout the lifetime of the plant. This verifies the operability of the ESD units without affecting the ongoing process.
