Nordhydraulic’s RSQ 240 is a valve designed for more efficient use of cranes and shows that the well-proven spool type mobile valve still has potential for further development. RSQ 240 mobile valve Nordhydraulic’s RSQ 240 is a mobile valve which adds new features to mobile equipment.
The maximum capacity of a crane in metric tonnes depends on the maximum speed of the various functions. If the maximum speed is reduced, the maximum permitted payload can be increased due to less dynamic forces. Also, in certain critical operations, the option to reduce maximum speed and to control a movement in a very precise way is very valuable. These features can be realised using the RSQ 240 valve. In one way, it is a conventional open centre directional valve but with a new unique patented design which offers two preset maximum flow levels. The ingenious design concept is such that, even in the low flow mode, the whole spool stroke is used to achieve good metering characteristics. The RSQ 240 valve actually consists of two valves, optimised for two different flow rates, incorporated into one.
