Tyco Valves & Controls has released its Avid family of products. The Avid range includes position monitors, control monitors, and valve positioners. The position monitors offer a wide variety of enclosure choices and multiple options of mechanical and proximity switches to meet customers’ environmental needs and safety requirements. The valve positioner line comes with self-calibration standard on all electro-pneumatic units. The SmartCal is a true digital positioner that gives a vast array of options with ease of use not currently offered by any competitor. The features include one-touch auto calibration, independent speed controls, PID adjustment for the valve package, and one unit that will accommodate rotary and linear actuators in either double-acting or spring-return models. The SmartCal can also be used with AMS or Cornerstone software to collect data for maintenance programs.
