Philippines and UK in energy co-operation

The Philippine and British governments have inked a memorandum of understanding to co-operate in the energy sector, particularly in the development of the archipelago’s indigenous and renewable energy resources, the DOE said. Under the agreement, the two governments plan to establish joint projects to develop indigenous energy resources, including the formation of a specialized energy technology center. “The joint venture would also enable us to pioneer renewable energy technologies, cleaner fossil fuel technologies and power sector management methods, with the assistance of the British government,” a DOE official said, adding, further details of the MOU remained to be worked out.
