Energia Hidroelectrica de Navarra (Spain) is to invest up to EUR 500 million in the UK over the next five years to install 500MW of wind capacity, to build factories to manufacture wind turbines and associated equipment, and to develop other renewable energy projects in areas such as biomass and hydrogen. EHN, which has an affiliate in Newport, Wales, said it would follow in the UK the model it has developed in its home region of Navarre in northern Spain. This will not be EHN’s first venture abroad: it has already installed 33MW of wind capacity in France and 20MW in Germany.
