From two weeks to four years

Recent applications of anti-scale valves have led to improved performance in a number of industry sectors. When scale is formed on the moving elements of ball valves or gate valves this blocks the valve movement or damages the valve seats and causes leaking through the valves. To solve this problem Stainless Valve Co. developed its AS Stargate-O-Port valves in 1996. The feedback from the markets has been positive, with improved performance in pulp manufacturing and the food industry. Most impressive was the improvement in mining, where standard valves had to be exchanged every two weeks, whereas the anti-scale valves have now been in operation for three to four years without any need for refurbishment. The increased production by eliminating downtime has paid many times already for the investment in the valves.
