AVT aids desulphurisation

Advanced Valve Technologies (AVT) is increasingly being chosen as a solution to flue gas desulphurisation problems requiring valves. Flue gas desulphurisation has become increasingly important with companies being required to achieve a minimum cleanliness of emissions from coal-fired boilers and, in some cases, facilitate monitoring to prove target emissions are being met. This flue gas desulphurisation is typically achieved by use of scrubbers to remove the H2S (hydrogen sulphide), HCl (hydrochloric acid), and H2SO4 (sulphuric acid). The chimney stacks used for emissions are increasingly being made from fiberglass GRP, or lined with that material for larger installations, to combat the corrosive acids formed by these emissions. AVT offers glass-reinforced composite valves that it claims are similar, and in many cases superior, to fiberglass GRP. Users are requesting full port, lightweight valves for placing within a gas handling system or upon a chimney stack at various heights, resistant to H2S and HCl. AVT valves uniquely fulfill these requirements precisely. AVT claims its ball valve is the only valve in the world that meets the exact requirements, being light, corrosion-resistant (materials such as Hastelloy B in some applications), temperature-tolerant and full port.
