FCX – the specialist global distributor and manufacturer of flow control products and solutions – has acquired Melaar, a Sydney-based product distributor. Melaar is a distributor of Graco products in the region, and the acquisition will allow Melaar’s activities to be combined with FCX Australia’s speciality products division. The company will operate as a separate product unit within FCX Australia and will be headed up by Phillip Butterworth, Melaar’s existing Chief Executive. Melaar was formed in November 2001 following a management buyout of the Graco business from Formula International. Now part of FCX Australia, the combined operation gives FCX a strong core product group. The extensive product range includes pumps, valves and related products designed to control the flow of lubricants such as oils, greases and liquid food products.
