Position sensors for steam turbines

Macro Sensors (USA), has been named a GE SQE- (Supplier Quality Engineering) approved vendor for LVRT (Linear Variable Reluctance Transformer) position sensors used on General Electric’s steam turbines. The LVRTs are implemented for position measurement on governor valves, throttle valves, reheat/stop valves, interceptor valves, and many other control valves. Macro Sensors offers a variety of its three-wire LVRT-type linear position sensors to General Electric for turbine valve monitoring and control in electric power generation plants. Units are available in a variety of configurations and outputs to fit different applications. For example, Macro Sensors’ VRT-750 series of 3/4-inch diameter hermetically sealed LVRTs are used by some systems integrators/re-builders to replace OEM GE-style LVRTs.
