Actuators work with floating facility

Emerson Process Management’s Valve Automation division has announced that it is providing its Bettis® pneumatic and hydraulic scotch yoke actuators for use on the ultra-deep Independence Hub floating facility in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The project requires 78 Bettis CBA- and G-Series actuators to operate 1-inch 150 class thru 20-inch 1500 class TK and Grove production line ball valves. The deep draft, semi-submersible Independence Hub facility gathers and processes natural gas and condensate from nine natural gas fields and is located in Mississippi Canyon Block 920 in 8,000 feet of water. First production from the facility is scheduled for 2007.
