Qatar: LNG liquefaction trains

OMB has announced the signing of the contract to supply cryogenic and commodity gate, globe and check valves to Chiyoda and Technip JV for the Qatargas II LNG onshore plant. The Qatargas II project will involve the construction of two of the largest LNG liquefaction trains in the world (Trains 4 and 5). The two new trains will be installed along side the three trains of Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. Ltd or Qatargas I. Each train will produce an expected minimum of 7.8 million tons per annum of LNG, with Train 4 scheduled for start up in late 2007, and Train 5 approximately 9 months later. The value of the project is USD 4 Billion Qatargas II will process 30 billion cubic meters of gas per annum and will produce 15.6MTA of LNG, 6MTA of condensate and 1.7MTA of propane and butane. Qatargas II will further commercialise the large gas reserves of the Qatar North Field, which has estimated recoverable natural gas resources in excess of 900 trillion cubic feet.
