The new Neles SwitchGuard™, an addition to the Neles SmartSolution range, is an intelligent controller for pneumatic on/off valves. It operates with all valve actuators and in all sectors of the industry. SwitchGuard has been designed to meet the requirements of process-critical switching operations, particularly in high cycling applications. One benefit that the Neles SwitchGuard provides is the facility to “see” what is going on inside automated valves in on/off applications, e.g. valve friction, pneumatics failure, etc. Diagnostics, which analyse the operation of an automated on/off valve while it is operating in the process, are the key feature of SwitchGuard, and the diagnostic information is stored within the controller.
