Alpha Gearheads’ new Ternary BLM actuator rounds off the existing all-in-one linear system that merges mechanics with intelligence. Ternary is a combination of several separate components that unites precision mechanics, electronics and integrated control and software in a single package. The system includes a servo drive and precision mechanics with a ball screw spindle and a stainless steel connecting rod. Depending on the model, the maximum force of the linear actuator and the torque of the rotary actuator have been increased as much as 300% and the maximum linear velocity and speed are 11% higher. Alpha’s linear system allows multiple positions to be controlled with utmost precision over an unlimited number of field buses. The linear unit can be used to design flexible machines that are adapted to product changes or future expansions. The dynamics of the integrated servo drive enable the achievable clock pulse rates to be more than doubled in practical duty. The Ternary BLM is equipped with a pulse input and A/B encoder output function to permit the actuator to be directly controlled if necessary without a bus interface.
