The ARCA Regler GmbH, Tönisvorst/ Germany has delivered control valves in nominal widths from DN 25 to DN 400 for a new double string CSP (Compact Strip Production) plant to Wuhan in the Chinese province of Hubei. When selecting and sizing the valves for the hydraulic oil circuits, ARCA valves with the proven pressure controller “Roboter” were chosen. The temperature circuits on the other hand have been equipped with control valves of the Ecotrol® series and three way valves. These latter divide the volume flow for a heat exchanger. For the water circuits special valves for the cooling of the intermediate roll stand (double seated valves of a nominal width of DN 200 with perforated plug and modified characteristics) as well as pump by-pass valves were used. The pump by-pass valves have a nominal width of DN 400 and offer a constant plant pressure of 13bar. The plant in Wuhan will be used for the production of hot wide strip made from high quality steel and is constructed for a yearly production of about 2.5 million tons of hot-rolled steel. The focus of the production will be on the production of electro sheet metal. The plant is expected to be put into operation end of 2008.ARCA valves for CSP plant in China
