Off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico, Oliver Twinsafe Valves has installed its largest valve. The Cheshire, UK-based company produced a 12in 1500lb double block and bleed valve to combat high-pressure levels within pipelines. Constructed in accordance with ASME B16.34, the carbon steel valve weighs a total of 4.6tns and utilises double block and bleed trunnion mounted ball valves. The project utilised six 12in valves, as part of an integrated package of valves, which saw a number of double block and bleed ball valves in sizes from 1in up to 12in being installed throughout the project on main pipelines for process isolation.
