ASCO Numatics has introduced a new range of general purpose, 3/2-way, direct acting solenoid valves, designed to provide on/off, feeding, piloting and venting functions on water, air, inert gas and oil at pressures up to a maximum 16bar. This new range comprises two series (370 and 374) of direct acting 1/4in valves all with corrosion resistant brass and stainless steel bodies, offering normally closed, normally open and universal functions. They can be used to pilot process control valves or actuators, or in analytical or proportioning applications. Stainless steel parts incorporated into the valve provide large solenoid pilot orifices in the range from 2.0mm to 3.8mm. The latter feature, combined with a 16bar (maximum) operating pressure differential, reduces the risk of the solenoid “blocking”. The mechanical operation of the valves is complemented by electrical actuation via moulded IP65 rated epoxy coils. Extending the scope of operation for 370 and 374 solenoid valves into potentially explosive environments are ASCO Numatics range of explosion proof solenoid operators. These conform to ATEX/IECEx and also national standards.
