MSB has developed a way to modify soft seated ball valves into no maintenance metal seated ball valves. These valves remain helium tight when used in steam, slurries and other demanding services where soft seats will fail. The operating torque of modified valves remains the same so that, if it is a motorized valve, the same actuator can be used. The metal sealing surfaces guarantee bidirectional leak free operation. This maintenance concept is suitable for all valves in services over 150C, steam, contaminated gasses, fluids and slurries, and where soft seated valves are used, such as in the chemical- and petrochemical industry, the power industry, and a variety of non food applications.
