Metso’s Automation business line Flow Control business unit has established a new Service centre in South Africa. The new Service center is located in Secunda, some 150km SE of Johannesburg. The new Service Center, which comprises a 150m2 office area and a 350m2 service area, is less than 10km from the site of the world’s largest coal-to-liquids synthetic fuel refinery complex, where Metso has a significant installed base. The installed base of Metso products in the Secunda area is in excess of 2000 valves, and this continues to grow as a result of recent expansion programs being undertaken by the local industry, and the recent addition of natural gas as a partial substitution feedstock to the synthetic fuel refining process.
