Aberdeen valves group opens manufacturing plant

An Aberdeen group of companies who specialise in valves have announced an expansion plan that will make its operations unique in Scotland. The AVS Group, which is based at Altens on the southern outskirts of the city, has taken a further substantial unit to house the valve manufacturing plant, LG Valves. The new unit, in Minto Place, is adjacent to its Aberdeen Valve Supplies operation. The new development involves moving the operations of LG Valves, bought by AVS 18 months ago, from the Midlands of England to the North-east of Scotland. While the majority of LG Valves contracts are for the oil and gas sector, it also services the mining and the chemical industries. A fast-growing market for LG Valves is in the nuclear sector.
