AUMA SA.2 adopted at Swiss

Adoption of AUMA modular electric actuators at Zurich Lake water plant began in 1975 and has continued with the recent installation of 190 SA.2 series multi-turn actuators. The latest commission for AUMA technology is part of enhancements at Lengg Lake. Within the framework of the current upgrade, AUMA actuators have been commissioned for the control of gate valves in a fast filter system.

The main objective of the improvement scheme was modernisation of the DCS which required integration of modern process technology. AUMA responded with new generation actuators equipped with Profibus DP interface. AUMA reports that the required enhancements to data communication, which included reducing plant commissioning time, were achieved.
Project Manager Alexander Beschaft paid tribute to AUMA’s innovation in actuation which has supported the Zurich water utility scheme over four decades.
