CNNC chooses DAHER to supply Tianwan plant

DAHER-VANATOME, the division of the DAHER Group which specialises in equipment for nuclear islands, will supply 120 safety valves for the new nuclear reactors at the Tianwan power plant. All this equipment will be designed, qualified and manufactured by DAHER-VANATOME at the St-Vallier (Drôme) plant. This new contract represents several million euros in turnover.

The only 100% French nuclear valve manufacturer, DAHER-VANATOME was awarded this contract by CNNC (China National Nuclear Corporation), in the face of strong international competition. The Group has thus consolidated its position as a tier-1 equipment supplier to the nuclear industry, with a strong export business, while protecting know-how and jobs in France.

Didier Kayat, Executive Vice-President of the Group, remarks: “Winning export markets enhances the visibility of the French nuclear industry, where SMEs and intermediate-sized companies have an important role to play alongside major accounts. This commercial success consolidates the choice of the Nuclear sector as the second area of expertise of the Group, alongside the Aerospace. We believe in the future of nuclear energy, and DAHER aims to become a leading force on all global markets.”
