Oliver Valves wins prestigious Manchester award

Oliver Valves, the Knutsford-based manufacturer of oil and gas valves for the global energy industry has scooped the GBP 50-100 million turnover category at the Manchester Evening News Business of the Year Awards.

It is the second time the business has been victorious at the awards in just three years, having won in the GBP 25-50 million bracket in 2010.

This year has been a year of awards success and recognition, with Oliver Valvetek – one of the three businesses in the Oliver family – winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise and chairman Michael Oliver being awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Michael Oliver said: “Since we won the award two years ago, we have sustained the rapid rate of growth, won a string of landmark contracts in territories all over the world, invested heavily in increasing our production capacity and created 75 new jobs.

“I’d like to say thank you to everyone at Oliver Valves that has worked so hard to make these things happen – none of this would be possible without their efforts.”

The awards were presented during an event at Manchester Town Hall, hosted by journalist and broadcaster Nicky Campbell.
