Metso opens new service center in the Netherlands

By David Sear and Mark Casey

On Thursday, 30th May 2013, a select group of Metso management, staff and customers gathered in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands, to celebrate the opening of Metso’s latest service centre.

Located near the Rotterdam-Antwerp industrial area, the new service center will support the company’s strategy to grow its valve and field device service business globally and strengthens Metso’s service capabilities within the Benelux region for major petrochemical, energy, oil & gas and pulp & paper companies.

Valve World was present throughout the day, and took the opportunity to talk to various members of the Metso organisation. We asked them about Metso’s global service strategy, the importance plant operators place on reducing downtimes, and (at a very practical level) how OEM’s can help improve lifetimes of equipment sent in for repair.
