Bug screens and silencers are essential elements of pneumatic systems to prevent valve failure through ingestion or emission of entrained particles and reduce exhaust volume levels. Typically based on sintered or mesh elements, bug screens are a simple barrier whereas the design of silencers needs to be carefully considered in order to minimise backpressure while allowing a substantial reduction in noise.
The Sitecna SLHF series high flow silencers from Red Dragon have been developed to produce a 70% noise reduction while minimising the resultant pressure drop through a combination of increased surface area and carefully selected pore sizes. Constructed from corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel in common with the SLVP bug screens, both these models have ATEX certification for hazardous area applications and the Russian Federation GOST approval.
SLHF models are available in NPT thread sizes from ⅛” to 1” and SLVP from ¼” to ¾” and are in stock at Red Dragon Valves.
