Chesterton’s seal material for hydraulic systems

Chesterton has developed a differentiated thermoset polyurethane seal material designed for use in hydraulic systems using ethylene glycol fluids (HFC hydraulic fluids).

The International Organization for Standardization Classification defines ISO HFC, or a water-glycol hydraulic fluid, as a fire-resistant hydraulic fluid consisting of water and glycol. Some hydraulic systems incorporate hydraulic fluid consisting of water and glycol as a fire retardant media (non-hydrocarbon based, no flammable).

Chesterton’s high-glycol-tolerant AWC850 exclusive thermoset polyether urethane (EU) material is not only compatible in these fluids but offers superior abrasion resistance and enhanced sealing performance when compared to other elastomer-based seal materials.
