Jacobs Vehicle Systems, the manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engine retarding systems and valve actuation mechanisms, announced a partnership with MARC of Manchester, Connecticut.
In partnership with Local 379 of the United Auto Workers Union, Jacobs began working with MARC, a not-for-profit organisation that empowers disabled members of the greater Manchester, Connecticut, community. The organisation supports over 250 individuals by providing employment services in the surrounding towns and at an in-house work environment.
“Our motto at MARC is ‘Seeing People and not Disabilities.’ We at MARC focus on what individuals CAN DO and we are committed to helping them succeed”, said Scott Stafford, director of services at MARC. “Our new partners at Jacobs Vehicle Systems have shown that they too recognise the ability of our employees to provide consistent quality and dependable service. Because of partnerships like ours, people with disabilities are more able to share in the satisfaction of working, earning an income and contributing to the communities in which they live.”
