JDV Control Valves has become the first company in the Greater China region to receive Functional Safety certification for ball valve products from TÜV Rheinland.
The new emphasis on the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) of valves means that end-users are now requiring suppliers to provide products that have passed functional safety assessment by third-party certification bodies. TÜV Rheinland is widely recognised as a provider of professional functional-safety certification services and has many years of experience in this field to help manufacturers carry out the entire certification process from failure analysis to type testing to on-site data analysis. The latest certification covers ball valves and butterfly valves. The rigorous quality requirements of JDV meant the certification process ran quite smoothly. In future, these certified high-quality valves are expected to offer an alternative option to Taiwan against importing ball and butterfly valves with functional-safety certification.
Thomas Fuhrmann, director of Industry Services for TÜV Rheinland Greater China, presented JDV Chairman Shun-Tien Fan with the product certification on September.
