The Iron Bridge Water Pollution Control Facility is a regional wastewater treatment plant operated and primarily owned by the City of Orlando. It is designed to service about 400,000 people in the Cities of Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland and Casselberry. The facility was built to help protect the Central Florida environment.
Inside the Master Pump station at the plant are two 60” metal-seated knife gate valves. These large custom-fabricated knife gates are made of 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance. Manufactured by Lined Valve Company, these are heavy-duty valves, and in this pump station, allow influent flow to be diverted between two large wet wells located in the pump station. The valves are ideal for the conditions found in a pump station: the heavy-duty body deflects from internal pressure, the cast stainless steel yoke will not bend or twist under extreme conditions and the precision manufactured stainless steel gate provides superior seating capability. With the benefit of customisation, these particular valves are motor-operated and built with a non-rising stem, and chest buttons. This plant has a notable total permitted capacity of 40 MGD.
