New DVGW approval for DN 400 valves with PE ends

AVK’s series 36 gate valves with PE ends have been DVGW approved up to DN 400. Getting this approval was a bit of a challenge, since DVGW did not have a sufficient foundation to conduct the qualification testing according to the former standard DVGW VP600, which only went up to DN 200 for gate valves with PE ends. However, a new DVGW standard was announced, the DVGW G5600-1, which makes it possible to approve gate valves with PE ends larger than DN 200. AVK’s other gas valves in series 02, 06 and 46 are all DWGV approved.

The market for valves larger than DN 200 has increased with the extension of the transportation and distribution network. Consequently, the individual gas companies can use the network for storage. This means that they can purchase the gas when the price is attractive and store it for later usage.
