Control Seal BV supplies 42″ valves to Jazan refinery


Dutch company Control Seal BV located in Appingedam have delivered two 42 inch DBB valves to the Jazan refinery project in Saudi Arabia. The valves, for use in a metering system of the Marine Pipeline Corridor, were produced from ASTM A216 WCC material and measure 1.5 by 2.2 metres and weigh over 11 tonnes. The valves are supplied under Saudi Aramco specifications and were also fitted with electric actuators and a stainless steel Manual Bleed and Thermal Relief system (MBTR). Twenty-eight other valves will also be supplied to the project, in sizes of 18, 24, 30 and 36 inches. “Control Seal have a proud history of passing the standard zero leakage requirements set by Saudi Aramco” said Ronald Koers, Project Manager Key Accounts. “This tradition proved to continue when our 36 inch 150# and 42 inch 150# valves recently passed pressure testing without any problems.”


Control Seal are to also supply a 24 inch 1500# non-contact Rising Stem Ball Valve (RSBV) to the Novokuybyshevsk refinery in Russia. This particular valve (pictured) is produced from ASTM A352 LCC material under strict customer specifications and will comply with EAC regulations. The valve measures 2.0 by 5.0 metres, weights over 17 tones and is over 5.4 metres high. It will be fitted with an electric actuator, too. Other valves to be supplied to the Novokuybyshevsk refinery include valves in sizes of 2, 6 and 20 inches in classes 900 and 1500.
