ASCO has recently introduced the 055 Series line of chemically inert PTFE isolation valves for analytical and medical instrument applications that require space-saving components. “Our new 055 Series isolation valves incorporate a form factor that is half the height of competitive products, making them ideal for benchtop liquid chromatography, DNA sequencing, and liquid sample preparation systems that are used in laboratories with limited space,” said Robert W. Kemple, Jr., executive vice president, sales and marketing – Americas, ASCO.
The 055 Series is designed for use with highly aggressive fluids. It shields internal components from chemical attack through a 100% PTFE fluidic path. The valves also feature low-wattage solenoid coils with minimal heat generation and thermal transfer to protect valuable samples and reagents.
The valves are available in 2-way normally closed, 2-way normally open, and 3-way universal versions, and come with #10-32, 1/4-28, or 1/8 NPSC in-line porting for exceptional versatility. They are manufactured in ASCO’s Class 8 clean rooms to eliminate contamination. The isolation valves have excellent self-draining capability and an easy-to-flush low-volume internal cavity. They have superior vacuum and pressure ratings and are available in custom designs for specialized applications.
