Rotork IQ3 intelligent electric valve actuators have successfully achieved Lloyd’s Register Type Approval to Test Specification 1 for use in the marine industry.
The Lloyd’s Type Approval, which applies to three phase IQ3 actuators for isolating duties and the Rotork Pakscan digital control system, covers environmental categories ENV1 and ENV2, enclosed spaces, subject to humidity and vibration. The approval signifies, amongst other things, the actuator’s immunity to signals created by other equipment operating on a vessel and that the actuator will operate in an electrically noisy environment.
Lloyd’s Register is a leading international provider of classification, compliance and consultancy services to the marine industry.
The design of the IQ3 actuator delivers robust performance with unrivalled levels of functionality and asset management abilities including advanced datalogging. The IP68 watertight and temporarily submersible double-sealed enclosure is universal to all actuators, including those with explosionproof certification, ensuring reliable long term performance in the most challenging environments.
