ABO, a Czech Republic based manufacturer of butterfly and knife-gate valves, has announced expansion of its assembly and automation center in Smolensk, Russia. The original facility was opened in 2014, and it started assembly of butterfly valves from DN 32 up to DN 400 in the very same year. In 2015, automation line of pneumatic and electric actuators and accessories was added. This year, the annual production output is expected to surpass 20,000 pcs of fully assembled valves.
Construction of the new facility is scheduled for the second half of 2018. Once finished, the extended operations shall house primarily new lines for assembly of larger sizes of butterfly valves, as well as improved testing and storage facilities.
For ABO, the Russian operations, are the third most significant after European and Middle Eastern operations. In addition to Russia, ABO runs two production plants in Europe and one in China. Further, a brand new production plant is scheduled to be opened by ABO in India during 2018 in order to serve ABO clients in India and South-East Asia.
