The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry is pleased to announce the publication of the new Standard Practice SP-157-2020, Quality Standard for Phosphate Surface Protective Coatings for Valves, Fittings, and Related Steel Piping Components.
Standard Practice (SP)-157 establishes requirements for the application of phosphate coatings on ferrous metal valves, fittings, and related steel piping components that necessitate surface protection. This Standard Practice includes a surface protection test method and acceptance criteria for verifying conformance to the Standard Practice. SP-157 will be maintained under the consensus of MSS Technical Committee 304, Quality Standards.
The new Standard Practice, MSS SP-157-2020, is now available from authorized U.S. and global distributors. It has been published in an electronic version (PDF) and book format.
