A-120 check valve series

Midland Manufacturing, a division of OPW Fluid transfer Group, has designed its A-120 Series of float style excess flow check valves to meet the stringent safety standards established by transport companies in the handling of chlorine. The A-120 Series has been specifically engineered to withstand the abuse of harsh rail-transport environments and exceed industry standards. Midland check valves have been engineered to provide high flow rates of up to 32,000lbs/hr while maintaining the high-flow disturbance sensitivity that helps operators achieve safe operation and faster loading and unloading times when handling volatile chemicals like chlorine. The A-120 has been designed to operate in a very tight range of flow rates, assuring that there are no inadvertent valve closures that can damage loading systems, cause component failure or disrupt operations. Should a valve “check,” it has been engineered to be re-opened through the activation of a pressure bypass, eliminating the need to strike the valve or use other potentially destructive methods to get it back into operation. The use of this pressure bypass also ensures a quick return to operation once the cause of the excess flow has been corrected. In addition, the A-120’s non-galling assembly keeps the valves sliding without binding.
