Amec Foster Wheeler wins Beaço LNG plant contract

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a pre-FEED (front-end engineering design) contract by the Government of Timor-Leste for the proposed Beaço Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant. Amec Foster Wheeler’s scope for the USD 3.8M pre-FEED contract includes concept selection studies, development of technical design, development of procurement and construction strategies, project implementation plans, capital cost estimate and schedule for the overall project.

The work will be done in close consultation with TIMOR GAP, which is Timor-Leste’s National Oil Company. TIMOR GAP, is currently managing the implementation of Tasi Mane Project consisting of three clusters of development situated along 155km of Timor-Leste’s southern coast. The three are the Suai Supply Base, the Betano Refinery and the Beaço LNG Plant. The contract will be delivered from Amec Foster Wheeler’s LNG centre of expertise in Reading, UK, working with its team in Malaysia.
