Anaerobic digestion gate valves from Orbinox UK

Anaerobic digestion is a collection of processes by which micro-organisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. The process is used for industrial or domestic purposes to manage waste and/or to produce fuels. The process produces a biogas, consisting of methane, carbon dioxide and traces of other ‘contaminant’ gases, which is widely used as a source of renewable energy.

ORBINOX ‘EB’ series bi-directional knife gate valve technology is a perfect choice of anaerobic digestion gate valves to meet the most demanding slurry feedstock and digestate applications. This batch of 316 stainless steel EB valves has been fitted with single-acting pneumatic actuators c/w our proprietary PneuLINK™ linear to rotary integrated control platform. The company’s Valve Control Monitor solution was selected, offering a 3/2 mono-stable solenoid valve and 2-off limit switches. A closed-loop breather system is included, to refresh the non-pressurised side of the actuators piston with clean instrument air on the spring strokes negative displacement.
